The MacGillycuddy Reeks Mountain Access Forum supported by South Kerry Development Partnership and funded by the Rural Development (LEADER) Programme 2014-2020 commissioned an Economic Impact Assessment report of the MacGillycuddy Reeks area. It will explore the economic value of recreational and related activities in the MacGillycuddy Reeks Mountains. The assessment will be carried out over the course of 2022 by Mark O’Connell and his team at Repucon Consulting.
This report when completed will give the MacGillycuddy Reeks Forum a comprehensive overview of the economic value of the MacGillycuddy Reeks mountains and will allow us to better understand what is needed with regard to future investment for the protection and development of these mountains.
